Joba Chamberlain, Winnebago, taking his role as father seriously

Joba Chamberlain, a member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska who plays for the New York Yankees, is sidelined due to an injury but he isn't shirking from his role as a father.

Chamberlain was with Karter, 6, when he injured himself on a trampoline in March. He was still recovering from elbow ligament replacement surgery and the new mishap put him out of commission.

But his recovery process doesn't interfere with his time with Karter, who lives in Nebraska. “My dad made sacrifices for me, and I make sacrifices for my son,” Chamberlain told The New York Times. “It all just goes together.”

Chamberlain has started pitching practice again but it's not known when he will return to the mound.
