Leaders of the
Blackfeet Nation of Montana voted to remove Jesse "Jay" St. Goddard from his position on the tribal council.
Chairman T.J. Show said St. Goddard was removed for four reasons, including his participation in a moose hunt and abuse of office.
But St. Goddard said he was targeted because he spoke out against tribal corruption.
"It was another sneaky, behind the scenes meeting," St. Goddard told The Great Falls Tribune.
The tribe is holding a council election for five seats next Tuesday but tribal leaders haven't decided what to do to fill St. Goddard's seat.
