Former president of Tonkawa Tribe enters guilty plea over theft

Anthony E Street, the former president of the Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma, pleaded guilty to a theft scheme.

Street, 48, admitted that he and two other tribal leaders wrote themselves checks from the tribe's general fund. The amount came to over $500,000, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a press release.

Gordon L Warrior, who served as vice president, and Dawena Pappan, who served as secretary-treasurer, previously pleaded guilty for their roles in the scheme.
