The
Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe of
Nevada expects to receive $250,000 for hosting a festival that will culminate with a
solar
eclipse this Sunday.
The tribe awarded a one-year permit to the organizers of the
Symbiosis Gathering, a
six-day festival of music, workshops and performances.
The tribe will get a percentage per person, a vehicle fee and fee for special services, The Reno Gazette-Journal reported.
“It should be a real good test run to see how events can run out there,” Scott H. Carey, thet tribe's planner, told the paper. “We hope that this one is a success and that it can put the lake on the map as an events venue.”
