Tribe of Wyoming has reportedly started to lay off some of its employees.
The tribe's human resources manager has been warning of layoffs. A number wasn't available but one tribal member said she heard 70 people lost their jobs.
"It's really going to affect the poorest of the poor people out here. That's what I'm fighting for is the poorest of the poor," Kim Harjo told The Riverton Ranger.
Harjo said tribal members will convene a general council on May 19 to discuss the situation.
