With 315,698 members, the
Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma is the largest tribe in the U.S.
But the figure is skewed because it includes citizens who have passed on.

Navajo Nation, with 300,048 members, to claim the title of the largest tribe.
The Cherokees receive about 1,200 citizen applications a month, registration manager Justin Godwin told The Cherokee Phoenix.
