Video: Announcement of $1B settlement in tribal lawsuits

The White House has posted a video of the $1 billion in settlements for tribal trust lawsuits.

The Obama administration reached settlements with 41 tribes who sued the federal government for mismanaging their trust funds and trust assets. Two tribal leaders -- Chief James Allan, the chairman of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe of Idaho and Gary Hayes, the chairman of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe of Colorado -- joined officials in announcing the deal at the White House on Wednesday.

The administration continues to negotiate settlements with other tribes.
