Los Coyotes Band gives business more time to move out

The Los Coyotes Band of Cahuilla and Cupeno Indians has given a non-Indian business more time to move off the reservation.

The Eagle Rock Training Center began operating on the reservation after signing a lease with then-chairwoman Francine Kupsch in March 2010. But the lease, which purported to waive the tribe's sovereign immunity, was never approved by the full council.

The Intertribal Court of Southern California eventually ruled that the tribe could evict the facility, which played host to some military training exercises. The company has until June to remove its property from the reservation.
