Four facing recall from Colorado River Indian Tribes council
Tuesday, March 27, 2012
Another year, another round of recall petitions for the Colorado River Indian Tribes.
Since 2008, there have been at least six recall attempts or recall elections on the reservation. One council member -- Dennis Welsh Jr -- has faced three recall efforts.
Welsh will face a record fourth recall petition. But his usual nemesis, Vinton Tahbo, wasn't behind the effort -- this time, it's David Harper, the son of elder Mamie Harper.
In addition, Vice Chairwoman Sylvia “Cindy” Homer; Secretary Merving Scott Jr and council member Ed Yava are facing recalls.
Petitions are due today, The Parker Pioneer reported.
