Mexico apologizes to second Indian woman in assault case

The Mexican government apologized to a second Indian woman who was beaten sexually assaulted by soldiers.

Ines Fernandez and Valentina Rosendo were assaulted in 2002. They took their case to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, which told the government to conduct an investigation.

The government apologized to Fernandez on Tuesday. An apology was offered to Rosendo last December.

Both women are Me'phaa, from the southern part of Mexico.
