Blackfeet Nation investigating reports of starving horses

The Blackfeet Nation of Montana is continuing to investigate reports of starving horses on the reservation.

Tribal officials responded to a complaint of about 20 to 30 starving horses. It turns out the animals were off the reservation but the tribe said they were fed and moved to a different location.

"I want the public to know this matter is under investigation by authorities of the Blackfeet Tribe and if people are not feeding their horses they will be held accountable," said attorney Sandra Watts said in a statement to The Great Falls Tribune.

Glacier County Sheriff Napi Billedeaux confirmed the horses were not found on land within reservation boundaries.
