The
Menominee Nation of Wisconsin has a new chairman.
Craig Corn was nominated for the post on Thursday. After winning a 5-4 vote from the Menominee Legislature, he was sworn in as the tribe's top leader.
"Serving on the Legislature this past year has given me a first-hand look at the problems that we are facing," Corn said at the Menominee Convention Center, The Shawano Leader reported. "With hard work and help from my fellow legislators, I am confident we can overcome these obstacles."
Myrna Warrington was elected vice chairman and Orman Waukau Jr. was named secretary. Corn provided the decided vote in both cases, the paper said.
