Some ski resorts are being accused of desecrating sacred sites but others are seeking Indian Country's help in bringing more snow. In Utah, the Park City Mountain Resort invited members of the Ute Tribe to perform a snow blessing. “We hope our prayers are answered because it’s for everybody,” Frank Arrowchis said at the ceremony, the Associated Press reported. In nearby California, members of the Washoe Tribe were the guests of honor. Ski resorts in Lake Tahoe sought spiritual assistance and it appeared to have worked. “We were thrilled to wake up to snow on the ground,” Andy Chapman of the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association told The Sierra Sun, a day after tribal members performed.
