Indian and Alaska Native Affairs Subcommittee sets hearing

The
House Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs
will hold a hearing on Wednesday, January 25.
The subcommittee will consider two bills. The first is
H.R.2467
, the Bridgeport Indian Colony Land Trust, Health, and Economic Development Act.
The bill places approximately 39.36 acres in trust for the
Bridgeport Indian Colony of California
. The tribe gained federal recognition in 1974.
The second bill is
S.292
, the Salmon Lake Land Selection Resolution Act. The bill ratifies a land agreement between the
Bering Straits Native Corporation
, an Alaska Native regional corporation, the state of Alaska and the federal government.
The hearing takes place at 11am in Room 1324 of the Longworth House Office Building.
