Tulalip Tribes use grant to fund Indian employment programs
Monday, November 21, 2011
The Tulalip Tribes of Washington are using a $493,000 grant from the Department of Education to help Indian people find jobs.
The grant comes from the Native American Career and Technical Education Program.
The tribe uses it for training and employment programs in construction, hospitality and tribal business management.
"I love this program, it just does wonders," Wendy Thompson, who completed the construction program and now works as the program's office manager, told The Everett Herald.
The program is open to members of all federally recognized tribes.
