Young Barona Band man goes on trial for first-degree murder

A young member of the
Barona Band of Mission Indians
is on trial for first-degree murder.
Stanley Virgil Lloyd Jr., 19, is accused of shooting 17-year-old Christopher Carioscia in October 2010. Prosecutor say Lloyd stole prescription drugs from Carioscia, whose family was in the drug trade, before killing him.
Carioscia's body and car were found on the reservation. Lloyd faces 50 years in prison if convicted.
