The
Morongo Band of Mission Indians is donating 9,000 turkeys to families in need this Thanksgiving.
The tribe started delivering the turkeys to 75 non-profits throughout southern California. This is the 26th year of the Thanksgiving Outreach event.
"I'm extremely proud of our tribe and that we want to do this every year for people that wouldn't have Thanksgiving without our help," Anne Robinson, the co-chair of the Morongo Charities committee, told KESQ-TV.
The tribe has donated nearly 60,000 turkeys since the event started, KPSP-TV reported.
