The
Oglala Sioux Tribe
of South Dakota has reached a settlement with
Alltlel
.
The tribe and the company were battling it out in tribal court and federal court over sovereign immunity and jurisdiction issues. But both sides agreed to dismiss their lawsuits after Alltel agreed to pay $1 million and forgive past debts owed by customers on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
