The
Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians in California will open a new health clinic on October 3.
The 60,000 square-foot Community Health Clinic will be located next to the tribe's casino.
It replaces a 17,000 square-foot facility that the tribe outgrew.
"Our vision for the tribal health clinic is to provide comprehensive and state-of-the-art medical and dental services to tribal members and community residents," executive director Beth Ann Bodi said in a
press release.
Visits to the new facility are expected to increase by at least 20 percent.
