Developer to return to federal court in feud with Hualapai Tribe

The developer of the Grand Canyon Skywalk plans to return to federal court to fight the Hualapai Tribe of Arizona.

David Jin sued in tribal court because he believes the tribe is about to seize the project from him. But Judge Ida Wilber ruled that tribal officials that were named as defendants have not waived their sovereign immunity.

Jin also sued in federal court but the judge said he must exhaust his tribal remedies. Wilber's decision could satisfy that requirement.

The tribe says Jin hasn't lived up to his end of a contract to complete a visitor center at the popular Grand Canyon attraction.
