Members of the
Oneida Nation of Wisconsin will go to the polls to choose a new chairman on Saturday.
Two council members, Ed Delgado and Ron "Tehassi" Hill, are seeking the position.
Outgoing chairman Rick Hill did not seek re-election.
Normally, tribal members have to pick from several candidates for chair. But this year, the tribe held a primary for the first time in its history, narrowing the field to Delgado and Hill.
"By narrowing the field to two candidates, someone will win with 50 percent of the votes," Leyne Orosco, the chairman of the Oneida Election Board, told The Green Bay Press-Gazette.
