Kalispel Tribe cancels Fourth of July celebration due to flooding

The Kalispel Tribe of Washington has canceled its Fourth of July powwow and fireworks show due to flooding on the reservation.

The Pend Oreille River has flooded most parts of the reservation, including the powwow grounds. KREM-TV said the situation is worse than usual this year.

“It’s our time to shine and celebrate, and we had to cancel that this year,” Corrie Nenema of the tribe's fire department told KREM.
