Robert Joe Jr., a former chairman of the
Swinomish Tribal Community in Washington, died on Wednesday. He was 73.
Joe served 18 years as chairman. Overall, he spent 26 years on the Swinomish Indian Senate, from 1976 to 2000.
"Robert Joe was a great man,” Chairman Brian Cladoosby said in a statement, The Skagit Valley Herald reported. “While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the life of this great man.”
