Former BIA superintendent found guilty of corruption charges
Florence A. White Eagle, a former Bureau of Indian Affairs superintendent on the Fort Peck Reservation in Montana, was convicted of stealing from a tribal loan program.
White Eagle, 63, was found guilty on six counts. Federal prosecutors said she participated in a scheme in which more than $1 million was embezzled from a program meant to help tribal members.
White Eagle faces up to 15 years in prison and a maximum $250,000 fine.
