Darryl Red Eagle, Fort Peck Tribes council member, dies at 45

Darryl Red Eagle, a council member for the Fort Peck Tribes of Montana, died on Monday. He was 45.

Red Eagle, who served on the council since 2005, was found not breathing at his home, The Billings Gazette reported. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

"It's a sad day for the Fort Peck Tribes," council member Thomas "Stoney" Anketell told The Billings Gazette.

The cause of death is under investigation.
