The
Delaware Tribe of Oklahoma will close one of its early childhood centers due to budget cuts.
The Caney Early Care and Education Center serves children up to age four.
It's the smallest of the tribe's four facilities so it was the first to go amid a cut in state and federal funds.
“It’s a big worry that programs are going to be closing and have less money when child care centers have such low profit margins anyways,”
Sherry Rackliff, the tribe's director of child services, told The Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise.
