American Indians and Alaska Natives make up 1.8 percent of the federal government workforce, according to the
Office of Personnel Management.
In a new
report, the OPM said the percentage of Native American federal employees stayed the same from fiscal year 2009 through 2010.
But their representation in senior pay levels dropped from 1.0 percent to 0.9 percent during the same time, the report said.
Overall, racial and ethnic minorities make up 33.8 percent of the federal workforce.
