Nebraska lawmakers approve tribal tobacco compact bill

Nebraska lawmakers voted 48-0 to approve a bill that authorizes tobacco compact with tribes.

Big tobacco companies lobbied for LB590. They say tribes should be paying into the Master Settlement Agreement that was negotiated with state governments.

The bill will require revenue-sharing in any tribal tobacco compact.
