A perceived racial slight was behind an incident involving a
Seneca Nation council member and a prominent lobbyist, The Buffalo News reports.
Bryan Gonzales thought
John "Jack" O'Donnell was starting at another tribal leader at a bar in Albany, a source told the paper. "Why don't you like Indians?" Gonzales asked O'Donnell.
O'Donnell responded that he was only watching a TV that was near a table of Senecas.
Tribal members told Gonzales to leave the bar and go to his hotel room but he shoved O'Donnell off a bar stool instead, the source said.
O'Donnell was treated at a hospital but his injuries "didn't seem significant," a police officer told the paper. Gonzales probably won't be charged with a crime although he has been sanctioned by the tribe.
