Body discovered in 1980 identified as Oglala Sioux woman

The remains of a body that was discovered in Georgia in May 1980 have been identified.

Juanita Adams was a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. She was either 19 or 20 years old at the time of her death.

Despite attention to the case, her remains weren't identified until recently. A cousin saw a clay reconstruction of the body and contacted police.

Adams is being buried on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
