The
Sauk-Suiattle Tribe of Washington has shut down its offices for a week due to concerns that an employee may have been infected with the
MRSA bacteria.
The tribe is spending $20,000 to clean up the offices as a precaution. The day care center has been shut down and the elderly meals program is being moved off site.
"We have a day care and elderly people, and they're more susceptible to that type of infection," police chief Stephen O'Leary told The Everett Herald.
MRSA bacteria is resistant to common antibiotics.
