The
Blackfeet Nation and Glacier County, Montana, declared a state of emergency on Tuesday due to blizzard conditions on the reservation.
The latest storm brought 10 inches of snow to the reservation. That's on top of 27 inches already on the ground.
"There's just an amazing, amazing amount of snow up here," Blackfeet Disaster Coordinator Robert DesRosier told The Great Falls Tribune. He said the winter has been the worst in about 40 years.
The tribe and the county hope the declaration will bring additional state and federal resources to the reservation.
