Navajo Nation man opens front door to White House for tribes
Friday, February 25, 2011
Charles Galbraith, a member of the Navajo Nation, began his new job as Deputy Associate
Director of the Office of
Intergovernmental Affairs earlier this month.
Galbraith, a former federal prosecutor from Arizona, will handle tribal government issues for the White House. "Instead of talking to a judge every day I'm talking to tribal leaders," he told The Navajo Times.
They're going to keep me busy," Galbraith said of his new position.
Galbraith worked on Indian issues for then-Sen. Barack Obama during the presidential campaign.
