Boy, 14, who was dependent of Yakama Nation jumps to his death

A 14-year-old boy who was a dependent of the Yakama Nation and a ward of the state of Washington jumped to his death on January 21.

The boy jumped off a highway overpass and was hit by a van. Authorities believe he acted intentionally.

The boy apparently ran away from a group home just 20 minutes prior to the incident. "All we know is he died in our care, and we don't know what the cause of death is," a spokesperson for the state Children's Administration told The Lynwood Enterprise.
