The
Bureau of Indian Affairs is soliciting bids to round up an estimated 700 horses on the
Crow Reservation in Montana.
The horses belong to Jim Leachman, a non-Indian rancher who has been charged with animal cruelty. County prosecutors say he his neglected his horses, which have shown signs of malnutrition, suffering and disease.
The BIA says horses need to be transported to a holding facility after being rounded up on the reservation.
