Philip H. Tarbell, a former chief of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York, has been indicted on federal drug charges.
Tarbell, 68, is charged with possession with intent to distribute less than 50 kilograms of marijuana. Authorities say they found about 95 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.
This is the second time in less than a year that Tarbell has been indicted on drug charges. Last December, he was accused of having about 23 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle. That case is pending.
