Oregon State University is hosting a Nike N7 game on November 21 to raise awareness of Native issues.
The team will wear special turquoise uniforms and Nike N7 shoes for the game.
It's the first event of its kind for the brand, which was specifically designed for Native Americans.
"The one thing that rang true is that in the Native American culture, sport plays a very big part there and it's important on different levels. You see older folks play softball, you see young kids playing basketball," OSU coach Craig Robinson told The Oregonian. "To be able to do something that helps bring sport and bring access to sport to kids all around the country, it's really a pleasure to be a part of."
Joe Burton, a member of the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians
of California, plays on the team.
