The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara
Nation of North Dakota has a new chairman and that means political appointees from the last leader have been let go.
Chairman Tex Hall said he has laid of 42 appointees, with a couple more likely on the way. But former chairman Marcus Levings claims about 100 people were fired.
"There have been no terminations. We could have terminated some but we didn't; there were grounds for termination but we didn't. They just laid them off," public relations officer Glenda Embry told The Minot Daily News.
Hall is serving his third term in office.
