"We asked Patrick Parenteau, an environmental law professor at Vermont Law School, to take a look at the lawsuit the Quechan tribe has filed against the Department of Interior.
The tribe is seeking to block construction of the Imperial Valley Solar Project, in which tens of thousands of mirrored dishes outfitted with Stirling engines would produce power for San Diego.
It says the project, on 10 square miles of federal land, has not been sufficiently studied and would damage culturally significant sites.
It's asking San Diego federal judge Larry A. Burns to issue an injunction against the project.
"Conflicts like this, what I call 'green vs green,' are just beginning," Parenteau said."
