Native American students at Harvard College in Massachusetts are criticizing a fraternity for hosting a "Conquistabros and Navajos" theme party.
Tia M. Ray ’12, a member of the Navajo Nation, said the event made a "mockery" of her tribe.“It’s always very disappointing to see native cultures lumped into one group that you can dress up," Ray, who serves as vice president of Native Americans at Harvard College, told The Crimson newspaper.
The Sigma Chi party was held Friday night. A member said the theme was "Brave New World" and that the fraternity didn't mean to offend anyone.
