A former employee of Laguna Construction Co. pleaded guilty to accepting kickbacks on government contracts.
Ismael "Mike" Salinas inflated contracts and over-billed the Defense Department for work in Iraq. He admitted he received $847,904 in kickbacks.
Neither the corporation itself nor Laguna Pueblo have been implicated in the scheme. The company has received over $300 million in contracts for work in Iraq.
