After 72 hours of negotiations, the two groups vying to control the 99th annual Shiprock Navajo Fair reached an agreement.
The Northern Navajo Nation Fair Board will run the parade on Saturday morning, , the Indian Market and and vending. Meanwhile, Shiprock Navajo Fair Inc. will over the rodeo, exhibits, baby contest, elder fest, powwow, youth day, Miss Northern Navajo pageant and other events at the fairgrounds.
The agreement calls for 15 percent of event proceeds to go to the Shiprock Chapter of the Navajo Nation.
