The Grand Traverse Band of
Ottawa and Chippewa Indians of Michigan won't be able to swear in three council members today.
The tribe held a general election on August 26. But a tribal member has accused the election board of “impropriety” during the election process, The Leelanau News reported.
Alvin Pedwaydon, George Antoine and Robert Kewaygoshkum were the winners of the election. The complaint centers on Pedwaydon.
The tribal court will hear the challenge.
