The family of former Nebraska governor Robert Crosby returned an eagle feather headdress to a family from the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
Chief Fools Crow and Ben American Horse presented Crosby with the headdress in 1935. They gave Crosby the name "Knife Chief" because he supported tribal issues.
Crosby died in 2000 and his family wanted the headdress returned to Pine Ridge Reservation. Mel Lone Hill, who is Chief Fools Crow's, accepted the item in a ceremony on Saturday.
"It's good to have Crosby's war bonnet back in the family," Lone Hill said, The Lincoln Journal Star reported.
