Muscogee Nation cites long history with U.S. Marshals Service
The Muscogee Nation has been cooperating with the U.S. Marshals Service since the 1800s, a tribal official said.

The tribe brought its law enforcement agency to Oklahoma during the forced removal period. Tribal officers often became cross-deputized as federal marshals.

"We have long had that connection to and presence with the U.S. Marshals Service in this territory," chief of staff Edwin Marshall told The Fort Smith Times Record.

Marshall is the newest board member of the U.S. Marshals Museum.
