The Miccosukee
Tribe of Florida lost a ruling in a long-running battle over the restoration of the Everglades.
The tribe tried to stop Gov. Charlie Crist (R) from moving forward with a land deal with U.S. Sugar Corp. The tribe said the $197 million deal conflicted with plans for a reservoir that has already cost the state $280 million.
The tribe's homeland is the Everglades.
