The Las Vegas Paiute Tribe of Nevada signed an agreement to host a transmission line on the reservation.
The tribe will host the last six miles of a 58-mile transmission project. The deal provides the tribe with a share of the revenues from power shippers that use the line.
"We're going to help our local economy and help fellow Nevadans get back to work," Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nevada),
the Senate majority
leader, said at a ceremony where the tribe signed the deal, The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
