Oklahoma City Indian Clinic draws thousands to contest powwow
The Oklahoma City Indian Clinic held its 6th annual contest powwow on Saturday. Over 3,500 people attended and more than 250 people competed, said Rita Wright-Burkhalter, the clinic's community development director. "The powwow originally began as a way for the clinic to honor our patients and all American Indians in central Oklahoma," Wright-Burkhalter told The Oklahoman.
