A man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a 15-month-old boy on the Shinnecock Nation in New York.
Pedro Jones, who is not a tribal member, allegedly struck the boy on Sunday night.
“It’s a tragedy,” a tribal spokesperson told 1010 WINS. “We’re in mourning.”
State police are handling the case. The tribe's federal recognition is on hold pending a challenge from outside groups.
