The Tohono O'odham
Nation filed a brief in a lawsuit challenging SB1070, Arizona's controversial anti-immigration law.
The tribe says the law will likely lead to civil rights violations of its members. Some members lack U.S. citizenship documents even though they were born in the U.S. and some might be mistaken for immigrants.
The lawsuit was filed by officers in Phoenix, Arizona, who say SB1070 will interfere with their law enforcement duties.
They are asking a federal judge to put a hold on the law at a hearing today.
Separately, the Department of Justice filed its own lawsuit
against SB1070.
